別科コース中級２クラスの王さん（中国出身）にインタビューしました。
Q：どうしてYWCAで日本語の勉強を始めましたか。
A：私は中国で子育てをしていましたが、夫が日本で仕事をしていたので、日本にくることになりました。これから日本で子育てをしていくので、日本語を話せることは私にとってはとても重要です。子どもがこれから幼稚園に入って友達ができた時に、お友達のお母さんたちとコミュニケーションをとりたいからです。おたがいの「ふつう」がちがうこともあるので、わかり合うためには、日本語がとても大切だと思います。
My husband was working in Japan and I was raising our child in China, but we decided to come to Japan. I need Japanese to raise my child in Japan from now on. When my child starts kindergarten or makes friends, it is very important to be able to understand and communicate with their families.
Q：今のクラスはどうですか。
A：とてもいいです。わからないことがある時、他の学生に助けてくれます。「一緒に頑張っていこう」と声をかけあっています。先生の話してくださる日本語もだんだんわかるようになり、そのおかげでテレビのドラマのセリフや子どもの会話は結構わかるようになってきました。今のクラスは夏に終わりますが、秋以降もYWCAで勉強を続けたいです。
It is very good. Whenever I don’t understand something, other students help me or I help them, and we say to each other, “Let’s do our best together. I am gradually learning to understand the Japanese spoken by the teacher, and thanks to that, I can understand quite a few lines from TV dramas and children’s conversations. My current class will end in the summer, but I would like to continue my studies in the fall and beyond.
Q：日本語を学んで、これからどんなことをやっていきたいですか。
A：中国では元々中国語、数学の教師をしていました。幼稚園の先生をしていたこともあります。国際免許も持っているので、日本語ができるようになったら中国語の教師をしたいです。
What do you want to do in the future after learning Japanese?
I was originally a Chinese and math teacher in China. I also worked as a kindergarten teacher. I also have an international license, so I hope to be able to work as a Chinese teacher when I become proficient in Japanese.
